FIND OUT A BIT ABOUT THE ARTIST. LEARN WHY SHE DOES WHAT SHE DOES!

Karin has been working creatively for much of her life and has always been inspired by the natural world surrounding her.

She led industrial arts courses for 9 years prior to opening WIP and taught a variety of arts courses including; carpentry, pottery, welding + sign making. Karin also taught fine arts classes in glassworks, jewelery design + tile mosaic.

Each of WIP piece is unique, original and crafted to the smallest detail. Karin works individually with client's to understand exactly what they are looking for and designs the work to reflect both the client and their environment.

This diverse experience in the arts allows her a great deal of freedom in terms of what she can accomplish. The ability to work with a variety of materials makes the possibilities endless. Using new or recycled mild steel, copper, stainless steel, brass, aluminum, coloured glass + repurposed wood...no two pieces are ever alike.

Karin and WIP represent a true small business mentality - personal relationships with clients, product integrity, original work and a belief that nothing should be cookie-cutter.

'Everything from vibrant Caribbean fish to the grandeaur of the rocky mountains...deer grazing in the great open prairies to the view from my window - the beauty of nature is inspiration for all that I create. In each piece I strive to take an old world art and bring it into your home as a personalized, individual + funky reflection of who you are.'
